The Danvers Bi-Peds is a citizens' advocacy group working to improve biking and walking conditions and promote safe ways to use these as viable means of transportation and recreation.

Coastal Trails Coalition

The Coastal Trails Coalition (CTC) is composed of citizens and communities in the Lower Merrimack Valley whose mission is to advocate for the Coastal Trails Network, a public system of interconnected bicycle and pedestrian trails that will enhance local recreation, conservation, education, and tourism opportunities. The CTC receives technical assistance and support from the National Park Service Rivers and Trails Program, the Essex National Heritage Commission and the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy.

The Clearinghouse, a project of Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC), provides technical assistance, information resources and referrals to trail and greenway advocates and developers across the nation. Services are free and available to individuals, government agencies, communities, grassroots organizations and anyone else who is seeking to create or manage trails and greenways.

The towns of Danvers, Wenham, Topsfield, Boxford, Georgetown, Newbury, Newburyport and Salisbury have joined together in a coalition for the purpose of presenting a long distance (29 mile) trail. The first Implementation Plan is now available for distribution.

Boxford Trails Association/Boxford Open Land Trust  www.btabolt.org/

is a volunteer, private, nonprofit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to preserving and protecting natural and aesthetically important land and wildlife habitat, in Boxford.  Active for more than 30 years, BTA/BOLT, Inc. has preserved more than 1100 acres and more than 100 miles of trails for passive recreational use.
